Stigma Fighters Teen

A place where voices are heard

Welcome to Stigma Fighters Teen, a place where teenagers share their stories about living with mental illness. We are a support group. We are mental health advocates. We are not therapists. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a mental health professional. This is a place to share honest journeys.

If you would like to submit your story, please contact

Now that the more serious stuff is out of the way, let me introduce to you what Stigma Fighters is and what they are about.

“In February 2014 I wrote an article for The Huffington Post about living with panic disorder and depression. I wrote it because I wanted to show the world that there are people living with mental illness who are not just homeless or institutionalized. There are those of us who are living within the confines of society.

There are teachers, doctors, lawyers, psychologists, actors, writers all living with mental illness. These are the stories that need to be told; the people who seem to be “regular” or “normal” people but are actually hiding a big secret. They are living with an invisible illness. They are struggling to function like the rest of society.

I’m using my forum to raise awareness for people (like me) who are seemingly “normal” but actually fighting hard to survive.” Wrote Sarah Fader, the founder of Stigma Fighters. You can find that article here and you can see the stories others have shared.

But we wanted to reach a teen audience because we both have faced mental illnesses as teens and know how difficult it can be and how alone you can feel. So Sarah and I (Courtney) have teamed up to bring you Stigma Fighters Teen, so that teens have a place to see that others are going through similar and they aren’t alone.
